Today we’re answering one of life’s biggest beauty mysteries: How do I reapply sunscreen in the middle of the day, especially over makeup?
After understanding the importance of applying SPF, realising the 9 sunscreen mistakes you are probably making, here’s another lesson you should keep in mind: Sunscreen can degrade throughout the day, so it’s important to reapply every two to three hours for maximum protection! Yup, we hate to break it to you, but living life and sweating in the summer heat does take a toll on your sunscreen, so don’t expect to be fully protected when you apply only once!
Here are some easy tips on how to reapply sunscreen to help maximise your protection during those long summer days under the merciless Australian sun:
1. Touch Up with a BB Cushion
If you just can’t be bothered removing your makeup in the middle of the day, you can simply re-apply sunscreen with your favourite Korean BB Cushion! They usually feature up to SPF 50, and with their on-the-go convenience, it’s super easy to add extra sun protection during the day while refreshing your look.
With its fresh and glowy finish, the Heimish Artless Perfect Cushion with SPF50/PA+++ is a great choice because it’s formulated to hydrate and brighten your skin, while protecting it from the harmful UV rays.
2. DIY Sunscreen Cushion
Before chucking out those empty cushion cases away, why don’t you clean them up and use them to store your sunscreen instead? All you have to do is remove the clean cushion sponge, fill in about one third of the empty cushion case, put back the cushion sponge, and ta-da, a portable, easy-to-use sunscreen for touch-up anytime in the day!
3. Hello COSRX Pimple Clear Pads!
A favourite emergency hack of mine that I learnt from a beauty editor is to reapply sunscreen after using the COSRX Pimple Clear Pads. These multitasking pads remove any dirt, debris and light makeup well, leaving you with a super clean base to re-apply your sunscreen on!
These may be some of the best ways to reapply your SPF during the day, but remember: Ace your base first! These products don’t replace your main application of sunscreen at the start of the day, and it’s important to start off with the right amount before touching up with these methods throughout the day for extra protection.
