4 Serum Cocktails to Treat Your Winter Skin Issues

A serum cocktail is exactly what it sounds like: mixing skin care serums to create new ones!

The bar isn't the only place where you can be a mixologist. Pairing your serum formulas together help create a more personalised skin-boosting cocktail, and who doesn’t love a cocktail? ;) Because serums directly treat skin concerns head-on, they're going to be your best weapon for getting through this cold season. Below, we share some of our favourite serum combinations to help target different skin concerns!

1. For winter dryness: Neogen Real Ferment Micro SerumCOSRX Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence

The constant exposure to cold winds and indoor heating can dry out your skin, and you may be finding that your go-to formula isn't quite moisturising enough. In this case, it's best to double up your serums to add an extra layer of moisture! We love the combination of Neogen's Real Ferment Micro Serum with COSRX's Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence.

The Neogen serum contains 61% fermented ingredients to instantly moisturise, brighten and plump the skin, while the COSRX essence is powerfully packed with 4,000ppm of high purity natural hydrating Sodium Hyaluronate, the most effective form of hyaluronic acid to offer intense hydration to your skin, boosts elasticity and recharges dehydrated skin. Together, your skin will get a heavenly dose of moisture and nutrients!

2. For acne breakouts: Benton Snail Bee Ultimate Serum + Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum

During winter, instead of anything drying or harsh, go for a pairing that soothes and reduces blemishes, while preventing against future breakouts! One of our favourite combination is the Benton Snail Bee Ultimate Serum with the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum.

The Benton Ultimate Serum is packed with snail mucin and bee venom, two of the best ingredients for calming breakouts and fighting scars, while the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum further calms redness and irritation, evens out skin tone, an provides a serious dose of hydration!

3. For sensitive skin: Any gentle Vitamin C serum + Isntree Spot Saver Mugwort Ampoule

It's no surprise that your skin can get a little more sensitive during the cold season, but it doesn't mean that you have to completely stay away from strong active ingredients like vitamin C. Choose a vitamin C serum with a lower dose of the ingredient like the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop Serum (contains 5% pure vitamin C!), and pair it or follow-up with a soothing formula like the Isntree Spot Saver Mugwort Ampoule, which is packed with 85% mugwort, panthenol and ceramide to soothe skin and protect the skin barrier from getting compromised.

4. For a do-it-all skin booster: COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power EssenceDr. Ceuracle Royal Vita Propolis 33 Ampoule

Snail + propolis is such a match made in heaven! Individually, snail mucin and propolis are both great multitaskers that help target multiple skin concerns. When mixed together, they make a great blend for calming, soothing, and smoothing skin!

What you shouldn’t mix:

Cocktailing your serums is an easy and fun way to fight the skin concerns you're looking to target. Just make sure to avoid mixing more volatile ingredients like retinol, AHA/BHAs and vitamin C unless you've patch-tested the combination or consulted with your dermatologist.
