5 Easy Ways to Minimise Your Pores
With these 5 simple steps, getting rid of large pores has never been easier!
Large, clogged pores are no one’s best friend. They make our complexion dull, foundation slide off, blackheads to build up and our skin look anything but smooth. Contrary to popular belief, pores don’t just “open” and “close”. It’s tough to go back once your pores have increased in size, but you can always maintain your current pore size, or even make them less visible if you follow these simple steps:
1. Double Cleanse Every Night
Accumulated dirt and makeup not only clog your pores, but also makes them larger, and usually darker. Even if you’re not putting on any makeup, you’ll still want to get rid of sebum, dust, and even sunscreen. To do this, invest in a good oil-based cleanser and a gentle water-based (or foam) cleanser to use daily.
2. Exfoliate Regularly
To prevent the buildup of dead skin cells that can settle deep into your pores, use products with Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs). BHAs can go deep into the pores to exfoliate and remove any impurities.
For more instant results, try using the Neogen Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Pad Lemon once a week. These pads combine the benefits of both physical and chemical exfoliation to get rid of dead skin for an instantly smoother and brighter complexion.
3. Use Clay Products for a Deep Cleanse
Skincare products with charcoal or clay are basically magnets for the dirt in your pores. Use a clay mask or cleanser like the Neogen Canadian Pore Clay Cleanser or Heimish All Clean White Clay Foam to unclog pores and draw out unwanted impurities from the skin. These clay products also do a great job at absorbing any excess sebum, which is always a plus!
4. Shield from the sun
Many people do not know this, but the sun actually plays a big part in enlarging your pores. Harmful UV rays can disrupt the skin’s collagen production, and without collagen’s firming effects, your pores lose their elasticity. To prevent this from happening, make sure you always apply sunscreen daily!
5. Use a primer for a quick fix
Skincare products can take time to do their magic. If you need a quick fix, try using a primer designed for large pores, like our best-selling J.One Jelly Pack. It grips onto your makeup like a glue, and leaves your skin feeling so smooth and supple. Oh, and those pores? POOF!
