10 Best Travel Skin Care Tips
Yay, holiday season is upon us! *throws virtual confetti* Whether it's Europe, Bali or just a quick trip to Sydney, check out these tips that will make your travel skin care routine more manageable:
1. Treat your skin to a little pre-flight TLC
If maintaining your skin’s glow is a priority, call up your esthetician and schedule a thorough facial a couple of days before your trip! This will really help deep cleanse your pores and keep your skin in top shape for daaaays, even with just a minimal routine to accompany.
2. Tailor your skin care to your destination
Before you fly, it's important to do a little research on your travel destination. If the weather is going to be cold or dry, you want to pack a moisturiser with extra oomph, maybe even a sleeping mask and a lip balm so you can easily combat dry, chapped skin. If it's going to be hot and humid, make sure to ease up on the moisturiser, and opt for lightweight or gel-based products instead to avoid greasiness and breakouts.

3. Pack a cleansing stick
Cleansers are probably one of the most troublesome products to pack on a trip, as they're normally bulky and has the potential to spill all over your perfectly curated wardrobe (I've learnt it the hard way!). If you're more of a toss-and-go type of person, pack a cleansing stick with you instead! Not only are they more convenient than the traditional foam or gel cleansers, the Neogen Green Tea Cleansing Stick will also give your skin that much-need exfoliating action.
4. Carry a face mist while en route
Want to keep that glow showing on all your travel photos? Bring a mist along to keep your skin hydrated and trouble-free! Regardless of the climate, the COSRX Low pH PHA Barrier Mist is perfect for instant hydration all year-long.
5. Bring plenty of sheet masks with you!
Another skin care product that's normally not travel-friendly are essences. Most of the time, they're heavy and packaged in fragile glass bottles or jars. Instead of lugging around a whole bottle of essence, you can consider just swapping this step with some nourishing sheet masks instead. Plus, you can also use them in-flight!
6. Pack an exfoliating pad
Next to cleansers, exfoliating products are also troublesome products to pack. A travel hack I've learnt is to just put a few pieces of exfoliating pads like the Neogen Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Wine into a ziplock bag for all your exfoliating needs.
7. Look for multitaskers
If you're low on the luggage space, consider using multitasking skin care products on your trip. Some of our favourites are the Son & Park Beauty Water (cleansing water, toner and mild exfoliant in one), Klairs Supple Preparation All Over Lotion (lotion for your hair, face, body and even nails!), and the Hyggee All in One Essence (a multitasking essence for your hydrating, brightening and anti-wrinkle needs)!
8. Decant or buy minis
Be careful if you're trying to transfer any products, as certain ingredients can begin to degrade on exposure to air, so transferring them into another container will compromise the formula’s effectiveness! If you want to play it safe, buying minis can also be an option.
9. CBF? Buy a travel pack
If you just can't be stuffed picking the right products for your trip, get a curated travel pack like the Huxley Travel Kit or the Real Barrier Travel Kit instead!
10. Apply sunscreen! And reapply them!
You know the drill already, babes ;)
