Ingredients

Black sugar is the star ingredient in this scrub. This particular ingredient deep cleanses your skin while gently removing dead skin cells and clogged pores, without drying out or irritating the skin. Shea Butter, Cranberry Oil and Vitamin E also helps moisturise and protect sensitive skin after cleansing.

The new formula has also removed beeswax from the ingredients list, replacing it with Candellila Wax Esters (plant-derived wax) to make this product vegan-friendly. Other than being cruelty-free, the Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish is also free from silicone and pigments.

How to Use

Most people normally mix sugar scrubs with a few drops of water before scrubbing. However this is not how I like to use the Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish. I personally find it most effective when mixed with the Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil. By mixing it with a pump or two of the cleansing oil, you can easily melt makeup away while simultaneously removing dead skin cells and clogged pores. This method also makes the exfoliating process more effective, and less irritating on the skin.

Texture and Consistency

The texture of the scrub is thick and grainy, but spreads smoothly over the skin. It feels a bit like butter, and you can definitely tell that it contains shea butter. However, the sugar particles are coarse enough to give your skin an effective mechanical exfoliation.

Results

While many people with sensitive skin might shy away from physical exfoliation, there is a reason why this product is HG-status for a lot of people, even those with sensitive skin. This scrub does what it claims to do without causing irritation or breakouts. I have not once felt any need or desire to use or find any other facial scrub, because the Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish always does the trick. It helps get rid of blackheads, fight against clogged pores and acne, manages my dry flaking skin without any unwanted side effects!
